Brews n' Food

I'm Karsyn and i love to eat and drink beer.

Kinetic Brewing Company

So yesterday Mr. Avery and I hit up Kinetic Brewing.
They had the people from Moonlight Meadery there and they were selling testers of their different Meads!
One of which was fermented in Sam Addams Utopia barrels!
I enjoyed it, but they were selling the bottles for 69 bucks.
Little too steep if you ask me!

But, my favorite was the food, we had the cheese plate and the cheese cake!
My taste buds were happy! Not a bad way to spend Memorial day (:

So last night i got to have some more of the Imperial Black Phoenix.I had some for the first time at the Bootleggers 4th Anniversary, and it was my favorite beer of the night. There’s a two bottle limit on these suckers so i’m so happy i got a taste! (:

If you guys can get some, i for sure recommend it. This one has the same spicy coffee flavor to it as the original Black Phoenix, but there is a awesome bourbon taste to it! So delicious!

Recommendation!

This last weekend i went to STOUT, Burgers & beer. It’s this little bar pretty close to Amoeba in Hollywood.

They had a lot of awesome beers on tap and an impressive bottle list!
The ambience was pretty nice, our waitress was sweet, and let me get to the fun part;

THE BURGERS

were sooo aweomse

I got the truffle burger; my mouth was in euphoria!
Not only that, the fries were delicious, and the dipping sauces they had were tasty!
The burgers are about 10 bucks.
They were pretty hefty burgers so we cut it in half.
(and the serving of fries was pretty hefty as well)
So it’s worth your money!

Next time any of you are in Hollywood, hit it up! (:

you guyz…

I had a beer i didn’t like.. more importantly i had a porter i didn’t like! Usually i’m pretty easy to please when it comes to stouts and porters but this one.. i wasn’t a fan.

It’s called Peak XV Imperial Porter

Anyways, It’s from Black Diamond Brewing Co.
It wasn’t a horrible brew but i think i’m just not a fan of vanilla in beer! It threw me off a bit! Have any of you guys tried it? what do you think?

Another Bravery Brewing Update!

Recently i updated their blog! It’s crazy how close to opening they are! Check out the blog

The Bravery Sign! Bart Avery painted that by himself! He seems to be a man of many trades!
Anyways, I’ll keep you guys up to date, and i’ll make sure to tell you when it opens (:

So Friday I went to Bootlegger’s 4th Anniversary Celebration!
I had such a great time, and even though i was the DD i got to sip a few of the beers and by far my favorite was the Imperial Black Phoenix. I could drink that for DAYYYSSS it was so unbelievably tasty!! I heard a rumor that they’re going to be bottling and selling it soon, if so, you best BELIEVE i’ll be buying a few of those (:

So today i’m sharing a recipe! It’s a Chickpea Avocado Sandwich!

The Ingredients Are:

- Avocados
- Chickpeas
- Green Onions
- Cilantro
- Lime Juice
- Spinach

This is how i made it:

- Cut up the Cilantro and Green Onions
- Mashed up the Avocados
- Added the Chick Peas (i just squished them with my fingers)
- Added the Green Onion and Cilantro
- Put in Lime Juice
- Mixed together

Then i proceeded to toast some whole grain bread, put spinach on the bread, and then put the mixture on top! It was so yummy, and hey it’s pretty good for you as well!

Side Note: I didn’t use measurements, just add as much as you like! Everyone has their own preference on how much of an ingredient they like to use!

"Officially a beer snob"

Happy day after St. Patrick’s Day! I hope all of you had a good time.

I decided to a hit up a party with a few of my girlfriends and of course the party had the usual suspects, Bud Light, Corona, And Coors.

I had about a half of a Bud Light and a few sips of a Coors and Corona. I was utterly disgusted. A year ago i could push through it but then, i was introduced to Craft Beer and realized that beer isn’t something you push through, it’s a desert!

So anyways, this was just my little post about how i’m officially a beer snob and there is no turning back.

So yesterday i helped out Bravery Brewing with cleaning, loading, and unloading items over to the brewery!

They’re a micro Brewery (i have mentioned before) that is in Palmdale, CA. Should be open by June 1st , but ill keep you posted (:
